Teaching & Tutoring Experience

I am an IB Visual Arts online tutor with 20+ years of teaching experience. I am an IB examiner since 2007 and have supervised IB Art Extended Essays since 2006. My role as a Higher Education Careers Adviser helped me to get an even broader view of the educational system.

I have taught Art in numerous international schools, and I am proud to have had the vast majority of my students accepted at top art institutions globally, such as Goldsmiths University of London and Parsons School of Design. In my last school, I restructured the IB DP Visual Arts programme, placing a greater emphasis on critical thinking/studies, and raised the school’s average score from 5 to 7 and 6 in Standard and Higher levels respectively. In my seventeen years of being an IB Visual Arts EE supervisor, again, most of my advisees obtained full marks.

Since 2016, I have been an online tutor while keeping my ongoing role as an examiner for the IB board. Recently, a student I tutored for four months was accepted at the Bartlett School of Architecture without taking Art as a subject at school - a triumph I am proud of.

My experiences as the Head of the Arts Department and Subject Leader enabled me to implement curricula and strategies to maximise the learning experience of an international, culturally diverse student body.

I have studied and lived in many countries, I am trilingual and speak English and Slovenian fluently (and Arabic badly), and have a long career of teaching in international schools. I am certain that I can provide relevant, sensitive support and guidance to a wide range of students.
